America's Kids Program

The Omaha Home for Boys has launched a fundraising effort, the AMERICA’S KIDS campaign, with a goal of $8.6 million for four much-needed initiatives. The campaign will fund the following projects:

Residential and family care facilities for Cooper Village, the Home’s residential psychiatric therapeutic treatment program. The construction of a new residential cottage for Cooper Village will ensure that all the young men on the Village campus have a better living and healing environment that meets today’s standards of care. It will also increase capacity for treatment for Cooper Village from 54 to 60 beds. A new Village Center will be a welcoming “front door,” for all visitors, combining many of the therapeutic services for families and the boys under one roof.

A remodel of the Home’s original residential care cottages. The Home’s original cottages were built in the 1930s and early 1940s, and are due for renovation. The plan calls for updating these cottages’ insulation, electrical wiring and plumbing, as well as making physical changes to keep pace with the way the Home’s behavioral teaching model has advanced over the years.

Expansion of the program facilities for Independent Living. The Home’s Independent Living program helps young adults transition from group homes to independent apartment living. A new facility adjacent to the apartments will provide counseling rooms and office space for all program staff, which will allow for greater accessibility and efficiency in helping these young people on their journey.

Growing the scholarship fund. The Omaha Home for Boys helps its youth and young adults prepare for the road ahead with financial assistance to pursue post-secondary education. By adding to its permanently invested scholarship fund, the Home will ensure that funding for scholarships will be available in the future.

A successful campaign will secure the future of The Omaha Home for Boys as a “world class, world touch,” organization that will be able to do even more for youth and families in the years to come.
