The Home’s 4-H Program
An integral support component of Omaha Home for Boys’ core programs is the Valley View 4-H Club. The club began in 1948 with seven donated calves and since then has gone on to serve hundreds of boys and girls. Today, the club continues to positively impact the futures of at-risk youth by teaching them accountability, responsibility and the value of hard work. These youth find strength and confidence in themselves that they didn’t know existed.
A Unique Way to Donate
A donation of grain, feed or livestock offers unique tax-saving opportunities to donors by reducing overall taxable income and providing a charitable benefit without filing for a charitable deduction. This donation also creates an opportunity for growth in many areas for young men and women who have had few opportunities in life.
You should always review donation opportunities with your personal tax advisor.
Gift Planning & In-Kind or Services

Support the Scholarship Program
The Omaha Home for Boys is committed to helping youth reach their academic potential. As part of that goal, the Home has scholarships available for youth, both current and alumni, through the generosity of friends of the Home. Scholarships are awarded to youth who apply and meet all qualifications, one of which is participation in one of the Home’s three programs.
Your gift to the scholarship fund is a way to directly help the youth in their pursuit of higher education and their goal to become active, productive community members. Many young men and women receiving scholarships have worked against the odds to get into college and better their futures.
If you are interested in setting up a scholarship, please contact the Home via the phone number or email address below.
Many of our friends and donors enjoy reading, sharing and using our inspirational prayer cards.
Prayer cards are included in our regular mailings to friends and donors. More than 90 million prayer cards have made their way to friends and supporters across the U.S. and almost every foreign country.
Help us continue this tradition as well as include our youth in your prayers. Contact us online to request prayers cards.
Donate to the Youth Mart
Youth Mart is a donation center that serves former foster youth ages 16 to 24 as they face the transition into living independently with little support from family. Young adults are allowed to shop free of charge at Youth Mart for household essentials, furniture and personal care items. Located on the Omaha Home for Boys campus, Youth Mart was created when a need was identified by former foster youth at the Eastern Service Area Youth Permanency Summit.
Youth Mart is made possible by a grant from the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation in collaboration with Nebraska Families Collaborative, Child Saving Institute, Project Everlast, Omaha Home for Boys, Lutheran Family Services, Central Plains Center for Services and the community.
Youth Mart cannot help young adults get started on the right foot without the donations we so graciously receive throughout the year.
The following new or gently used items are needed:
- Household essentials – toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies
- Personal hygiene items – tampons, body wash, razors, shaving cream, toothpaste
- Gently used furniture (no mattresses) appropriate for an apartment setting
- Kitchen wares – pots and pans, dishes, silverware
- Household items – lamps, small appliances
- Baby items – clothing, diapers, wipes, personal hygiene items
- Clothing and shoes for adult men and women
Donations can be dropped off at Youth Mart on the Omaha Home for Boys’ campus at 4343 N. 52nd Street, Omaha (52nd and Ames) or you can call Youth Mart at (402) 457-7002 to schedule a pick up at your location.
