The Omaha Home for Boys Earns Coveted 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

The Omaha Home for Boys’ sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

Since 2002, using objective, data-driven analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, to its ratings methodology.

More than 230 people gathered at Cooper Memorial Farm and the Omaha Home for Boys’ 52nd and Ames campus Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2, to commemorate 9-plus decades of strengthening and supporting youth, young adults and families.

United Way of the Midlands Awards $60,000 to the Omaha Home for Boys

This award is to fund OHB Transitional and Independent Living Programs. Thanks to the generosity of United Way donors, young men and women in the Home’s Jacobs’ Place Transitional Living and Branching Out® Independent Living programs will receive additional support.

OHB Welcomes New Residential Program Director

Ron Ahrens, who has extensive experience in residential care programming and administration, has joined the Omaha Home for Boys as the new Residential Program Director.

In his new role, Ahrens oversees many of the campus departments, including residential living for youth and house parents, admissions and family services, wellness and recreation, education and food services.

Anderson Cottage Dominates OHB Winter Olympics

The youth from the Home’s Anderson Cottage won by a whopping 27 points over second-place Neef Cottage to win the2015 Omaha Home for Boys Winter Olympics. Bruner Cottage finished third. Home Welcomes First Calf of 2015

The Omaha Home for Boys welcomed our first calf of 2015 today at Cooper Memorial Farm —a bouncing baby bull. Mother and baby are reportedly doing just fine. The Home’s Valley View 4-H program has been a staple at Cooper Memorial Farm since 1948 and continues strong today. Several of the youth who reside on
